In the world of Artemis Fowl nothing is a coincidence. Even Artemis kissing Holly on the forehead was his way of securing his future. Heck even if he died we all know he would haunt Holly’s shower for all eternity.
Despite my fondness of Foaly, I was surprised to see the story follow him instead of Grub or Trouble or someone who could give a more detailed description of what was happening in Haven. Instead we were given Foaly and Caballine.
Foaly is apparently a bit ashamed of how he met his wife, which is understandable as he locks her up. IN A CELL. Hey, does that ring any bells? I’m also not surprised to find Caballine has to kick the stuffing out of some baddies and then worry about her dorky husband showing up because he’s a wimp. And then Foaly does something incredibly genius and saves her life. And they live happily ever after.
And that, my dear friends, is why Artemis/Holly is canon.

FOR THE PEOPLE WHO FELT SAD FOR ARTEMIS AT THE END OF THE LAST
Don’t be. Why? Remember in ”The Opal Deception” when Holly and Arty were about to be killed by the trolls, he said that, even though he did not remember the adventures he had with her, he was still her friend. We don’t need any confirmation that Holly and the others will never give up on him. Even if he does not remember, Holly will find a way to make them be friends again. This is Holly Short we’re talking about! Even if he does not remember what happened in the books, he will continue to be friends with them and he will continue to go on adventures with them. He will remember his friendships, and I’m sure, my fellow Fowl-Fans, that you don’t need to be a genius to that that is the best thing anyone could have. So, yeah, in other words, we DID get a happy ending after all.
There are also a little evidence in the books that Artemis remains in the world of magic. In ”The Atlantis Complex”, it is mentioned that J.Argon wrote Artemis’s biography, a book called Fowl and Fairy that was published ”years later”. He would have needed Arty to write it, right? And also, I don’t know if he was joking, but Eoin said that we woulnd’t touch ”anything Artemis” for 5 or 6 years, but from the way he spoke to people on that live video he made the book was published and other interviews, it really seemed like he was planning to do something related to AF in a few years. What if he WASN’T joking? Someone should REALLY, REALLY ask him :|
