Väinö told me that they had once an idea to create a tour together with all of the tall men of that time, but the others had refused, apparently being afraid to be compared with Väinö. Väinö said himself that his height is 247 cm (8 feet 1.2 inches). This measure was some kind of average of his daily height. In many advertisements his height was said to be 248 cm (8 feet 1.6 inches), even 251 cm (8 feet 2.8 inches) or 254 cm (8 feet 4 inches). Uncle Väinö said that many giants used to appear with a top hat. Väinö had no reason to do that!

My father arranged the funeral and ordered a coffin for a man of 250 cm (8 feet 2.4 inches). The coffin was too short and Väinö’s feet had to be bent to fit. Whether the coffin was built to an incorrect measurement, or whether Väinö was actually taller than 250 cm, remains a mystery.

I allready solved this. I met a doctor who measured Vaino after he was dead. He was 251,6cm tall lying down but his knees was just a bit bended. So he said his "corrected" height would have been about 255-257cm tall. Some spinal damage but not much. But measured he was 251,6cm.

1 time he was measured 245cm and what i know sure he was over 252cm when he died. Correted height more because his knees did not go straight. I have said that doctor is still alive and live my moms neighbour and i have knew also this doctor all my life. But around 2-3 years ago i just knew he was a one of doctors who measured him. He is bright older man. He said he never forget that height. I did but it was 252,8cm or something like that but not fully straight.

＠Alex Myllyrinne was measured 252,8cm after his death. So 8ft 3 almost. It was not corrected height. So he was probably bit more. I know a doctor who measured him. My moms neighbour. More than 80years now but razor sharp mind. He said that he will never forget Vaino and how big he was. I talk to him atleast once every month.

3. Vaino Myllyrinne is was 252,8cm tall. Doctor who measured him is still alive and my next house neighbour in Finland. So as we know Vaino is 2nd tallest man after Wadlow. Myllyrinne was probablya bit taller even. His knees did not go totally straiht then they measured him in lying position. Myllyrinne is also tall enough so he dont need correction. Vaino also stand that 8´3 in his normal standing position with shoes.

I still have same doctor my neighbour who measured Vaino. He did also double check it to me. 252,8cm and 175kg. His final day.

In Finland there are really tough laws. Even Vainos nephew can´t get his medical information. Gladly i know the doctor who measured him and he was also my doctor when i was a kid. And i mention before his house is opposite to our house. And his mind is razor sharp even thathe is over 80 years now.
